Backup Schedules

Configure automated daily or hourly backups for your instances.

Automated backups

Every instance includes configurable automated backups. Backups capture the full state of your OpenClaw instance, including:

  • Configuration files
  • Agent sessions and transcripts
  • Auth profiles and API keys
  • Workspace data

Configuring a schedule

  1. Go to your instance in the client portal
  2. Click Backup Configuration
  3. Choose a frequency:
    • Daily — runs once per day at your preferred hour
    • Hourly — runs every hour
  4. Set your retention count (how many backups to keep)
  5. Save

Manual backups

You can also trigger a backup at any time from the instance detail page. Manual backups do not count against your retention limit.

Restoring from backup

To restore a backup:

  1. Go to Backups for your instance
  2. Find the backup you want to restore
  3. Click Restore

Warning: Restoring a backup will replace the current state of your instance. This action cannot be undone.
